Remote Telephone Activator
WHEN YOU NEED TO CONTROL YOUR PC, NETWORK
OR OTHER ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
Now you can TURN ON, TURN OFF or RESET any Electrical Appliance
by calling a telephone line and entering a tone dial command.

Our Remote Telephone Activator (RTA) devices, when used in conjunction with one or two of the accessories listed on an following page, will allow ONE or TWO separate PC's, Networks or ANY other Electrical Appliances to be SWITCHED ON, SWITCHED OFF or RESET by using a normal telephone line.
There is no need to install a separate telephone line. Remote Telephone Activator is designed to connect and share your existing telephone line, when used with the Telstra FAXSTREAM DUET or MULTIPLE NUMBER service.
Easy User Installation. Simply connect it to any telephone socket and then plug in the appropriate control accessory.
If a Telstra Distinctive Ring Service such as FaxStream Duet or Multiple Number is used, then up to 3 separate RTA units can be fitted to one line, providing for independent control of up to 6 separate electrical devices.
RTA-1 SINGLE DEVICE CONTROL UNIT
Provides ONE CONTROL PORT (Dry Switch Closure) which is used to control ONE ACCESSORY device which will TURN ON, TURN OFF or RESET any PC or Electrical device.
RTA-2 DUAL DEVICE CONTROL UNIT
Provides TWO INDEPENDENT CONTROL PORTS (Dry Switch Closures) which can be used to control ONE or TWO ACCESSORY devices which will TURN ON, TURN OFF or RESET one or two PC or Electrical devices. Any combination of accessory devices can be used.
RTA-PRO PROGRAMMABLE CONTROL UNIT
Provides all of the facilities of the RTA-2 device and IN ADDITION provides:
- PIN NUMBER SECURITY - RTA-PRO can be set up to require entry of a 3 Digit PIN number before responding to your control code. This facility will assist in the prevention of accidental or unauthorised control of your electrical equipment.
- PROVIDES STATUS TONES - RTA-PRO provides status tones to advise if your equipment is currently ON or OFF. It also provides confirmation tones after actioning valid command instructions.
- MULTIPLE COMMANDS - RTA-PRO will accept and action an unlimited number of commands. It will only hang up when a valid command has not been detected for 15 seconds.
To operate your RTA, simply dial the telephone number of the line to which it is connected. A Distinctive Number service such as FaxStream Duet or Multiple Number can also be used. RTA will answer your call after 2 rings and then "listen" for a period of up to 15 seconds for control commands. You then enter the control commands(ON, OFF, RESET) by pressing numbers on your telephone. The RTA accessory devices(s) will then control your attached equipment.
ACCESSORIES
POWER CONTROL UNIT
The Power Control Unit (PCU) provides for completely safe and automatic connection or disconnection of a 240V (110VAC to 250VAC, 10 Amps) electricity supply to all attached equipment, when used in conjunction with an RTA device. This unit is designed for quick and easy user installation. Simply connect the POWER PLUG of the PCU to your electricity supply and the POWER SOCKET to your electrical equipment. The PCU then connects direct to the RTA with a supplied 'curly cord adaptor'.
PCU is available in two models.
- PCU -1 is configured in a NORMALLY ON configuration, so that your equipment will be switched ON, unless commanded by an RTA device.
- PCU -2 is configured in a NORMALLY OFF configuration, so that your equipment will be switched OFF, unless commanded by an RTA device.
PC RESET UNIT
The PC Reset Unit (PCR) provides for a remote RESET of your PC by telephone, when used in conjunction with an RTA device. It WILL NOT allow you to Switch ON or OFF your PC. Once installed, it allows remote activation of the Reset Button on your PC, without affecting the normal manual operation of this facility.
This unit is also suitable for user installation. The PCR is designed for fitting in place of a expansion socket blanking plate located at the back of your PC. The reset cable from the Reset Button is then routed to the PCR before connecting back to the motherboard. The PCR then connects direct to the RTA with a supplied 'curly cord adaptor'.
