Digital ON HOLD with Dial In Modem
Our DMX Digital Message Centre has been designed to allow you to Dial In by Modem, at any time, and update its MP3 On Hold Messages. This capability is ideal for customers that require frequent or rapid Message Updates, which can be done completely automatically from a remote location.
Modem update technology has several benefits:
- It does not require connection to the customer's IP Network
- It does not have to deal with firewalls or other internet access issues
- It is simple, extremely reliable and very cost effective
DMX incorporates our popular DMC Digital Message Centre facility, which provides the high quality Audio Output to which an LIU is connected. DMX also has an internal Modem, which connects to a telephone line or analogue telephone extension of a Phone System. This facility allows dial in update of one or more MP3 messages whenever needed.
DMX uses an SD Flash Card to store its message, so messages can also be changed by simple Flash Card replacement.
To allow for Dial In access, DMX can be connected to an existing telephone line in a number of manners:
- To an analogue extension of a PABX type Phone System, which has a Direct In Dial facility
- To an EFTPOS or ADSL telephone line if this line is not already used to receive incoming calls
- To a Fax Line, if FaxStream Duet service is enabled on this line. DMX can specifically answer calls to a Fax
Stream Duet number and ignore calls to the Fax. This telephone service costs $6 per month
Model DMX2 with integrated Modem Switch
If one of the above Line Sharing options is not suitable, then you can use our DMX2 model and connect to:
- A Fax line without the need for the FaxStream Duet Service
- An individual incoming analogue PSTN telephone line of a multiline telephone system.
This model has an integrated Modem Switch facility which will answer all incoming calls, determine if the call is a Modem call (by briefly listening for a Modem calling tone) and connect the call to the DMX Modem if it is. If the call is a Fax call or a Voice call, then DMX-2 will forward the call to the Fax Machine or Phone system, after a short delay.

ENCRYPTION FACILITY
Our unique Encryption facility is designed to protect your valuable productions from unauthorised use, editing or copying. Also, if you are involved in the Background Music industry, it is now a regulatory requirement that all commercial music MUST be ENCRYPTED.
Encryption is a NO CHARGE option on all Natcomm Digital Audio devices, with the exception of our very low cost DMC device, where the additional circuitry has a cost of $20 per unit (excl GST).
Using Encryption is quick and easy. All you need to do is encrypt your MP3 files using our supplied Encryption program, which takes just a few seconds.
You can Encrypt a single file, or a complete folder of files with a single action. Once your file is encrypted, it cannot be opened, altered or used in any device other than a Natcomm unit which is configured for Encryption.
Similarly, our Encryption devices cannot play standard MP3 files or any file other than those encrypted with our program.
The same Encryption program is used for ALL of our products ensuring standardisation of the processes.
TIME PROGRAMMABLE MESSAGE PLAY FACILITY
Our unique Time Programmable Message play facility is designed to automatically change the Message or Music that our device is set to play, at any future time or date. This option consists of a battery backed internal real time clock circuit, which can be supplied with ANY Natcomm Digital Audio device.
The large capacity of the SD Flash cards supplied with our devices allows for multiple files to be loaded onto a single card. Up to 20 individual Messages or Music Folders can then be programmed with specific time and date play information, using our supplied Dealer Control program. This facility can also be used to START play and STOP play at specified times or dates, or simply STOP play altogether at the expiry of a contract period.
Applications include:
- Scheduling different messages to play within specified times/dates
- Having different messages in the morning, afternoon and evening
- Having different messages for the weekends
- Having different messages for specific days of the week
- Automatic time programmed change to and from a Christmas On Hold message
Step 1 Install : Open your Dealer Control Program
This program is suppled at No Charge to all Natcomm Dealers. It is self loading and will install direct onto your Desktop ready for frequent use.
